「タイのハロウィーン」とも言われるピーターコン祭り。
ピーターコンは有名な仏教逸話がもとになったと言われます。

大きなマスクに色とりどりの衣装で精霊に扮した若者たちが、崇高な仏像の後についていく色鮮やかで活気に満ちたピーターコン・パレードが一番の見どころ。
村人たちも大声をあげて盛り上げます。

そのほか僧侶たちからのブッダ開眼前の説法や、マスクダンス・コンテストも行われます。

07:00 a.m.– Food Offerings to Monks at Phon-Chai Temple
08:30 a.m.– Bai Si (Summoning of Spirits) Ceremony at Jao Por Guan’s House. After Bai
Si,procession led by Jao Por Guan and Jao-Mae Nang Tiam to Phon-Chai Temple
09:30 a.m.– Gathering for Phi Ta Khon Procession and Competitions among groups marching in the
procession in front of Dan Sai District Office
10:30 a.m.– Opening Ceremony in front of Dan Sai District Office
02:30 p.m.– Children’s Dance Competition at Dan Sai District Office, 1st Round
05:00 p.m.– Evening entertainment by children from a Dan Sai school **
08:30 p.m. – Thai Folk Singing (Moh Lum) at Chum-Chon Ban Dan Sai School

11:00 a.m.– Parachute jump by firefighters from Phitsanulok (tentative plan)
01:00 p.m.– Grand parade from Dan Sai Municipality to Pon Chai Temple
03:00 p.m.– Pra Wate Procession led by Jao Por Guan and Jao-Mae Nang Tiam to Phon-
Chai Temple for circling the temple 3 times To make merit followed by the firing of the
bamboo rockets.

– Procession begins at the intersection of Keaw Asa Road and the Loei-Dan Sai Road

05:00 p.m. – Evening entertainment by children from a Dan Sai school
07:00 p.m. – Buddhist Sermons at Pon-Chai Temple by monks

08:00 a.m. – Ceremony to be rid of bad luck at Phon-Chai Temple
10:00 a.m. – Khan Lon procession from Jao Por Guan’s house to the morning and evening markets and ending at Phon-Chai Temple for the town purifying ceremony
